Martin & Anna Arndorfer and Alwin & Stefanie Jurtschitsch are great friends from the neighbouring villages of Strass and Langenlois. They spend lots of time together tasting in their cellars and philosophising about wine, usually with a beer in their hands. Fuchs und Hase was born from this friendship. German for "Fox and Hare”, the name is a reference to the Austrian idiom "Where fox and hare say goodnight”; a secluded spot surrounded by woodland. All of the vineyards used in the production of these Pet Nats are located in remote areas surrounded by forest.
Pet Nat Vol. 2 is a combination of Gruner Veltliner and Gelber Muskateller, with the latter grape spending a short time on the skins. Bottled while still fermenting, the natural bubbles have been captured within the bottle. This is a handcrafted, pure representation of an Austrian Pet Nat, fermented with native yeasts with no fining, filtration, or sulphur added. Citrus, apple, and pear notes are present, along with a crisp acidity.
