Our Story

Prost Wines is the creation of Dan, a wine enthusiast whose love affair with Central Europe began during his childhood summers spent in the Hungarian countryside. Spending summer days in the Hungarian plains, and much needed swims in Lake Balaton, Dan developed a deep appreciation for the beauty and culture of the region. These cherished memories are what developed into his current passion for sharing the magic of Central European wines with others.

Meet Dan

Hi, I'm Dan, the founder of Prost Wines. My passion for Central European wine is rooted in the summers I spent in the Hungarian countryside as a child. Those early experiences left a lasting impression, and I knew I had to share the beauty and culture of this region with others.

A few years ago, I spent two unforgettable months living in Austria, Hungary, and the Czech Republic. During this time, I immersed myself in the local wine culture and formed close friendships with winemakers who share my commitment to quality and authenticity. Every wine at Prost Wines is hand-selected by me, ensuring that each bottle you enjoy is a reflection of my dedication and expertise.

I love helping customers find their new favourite wine and sharing the stories behind each bottle. My goal is to make every visit to Prost Wines not just a shopping trip, but a journey into the heart of Central Europe, right from the comfort of your own home.

Our Philosophy

At Prost Wines, we believe in the art of low intervention winemaking. Our carefully curated selection features wines that are crafted with minimal interference, allowing the true character of the grapes and their terroir to shine through. We work closely with passionate winemakers and importers who embrace sustainable practices and a hands-off approach, ensuring that each bottle reflects the authenticity and purity of the region. While the wines on the site are not necessarily limited geographically to Central Europe, all share this philosophy in common.
