Claus Preisinger's Kalkundkiesel (Chalk and Gravel) Weiss is one of his most thrilling cuvees. This wine, made from a mixture of biodynamic Gruner Veltliner and Weissburgunder, with a touch of Muskateller and Welschriesling thrown in for good measure, exemplifies how fresh and bright Burgenland wine can be. On the nose, this wine is somewhat smokey and stony, with notes of lime, mint, and hazelnut. It's the perfect summer treat.
