Maison Skyaasen Pommard
Origin: Burgundy, France
Grapes: Pinot Noir
The wines of Joachim Skyaasen are amongst the rarest and most limited in our store, landing only once a year and quickly disappearing. Only on his third vintage, Joachim has very quickly become one of the young stars in the Côte de Beaune. He currently works full time in the vineyards of Chandon de Briailles, whilst slowly growing his very own project Maison Skyaasen.
His micro-négoce project has been a huge labour of love since its inception in 2018, and whilst the goal is to eventually be able to acquire some of his own plots, for the time being he is still sourcing grapes from various organic and biodynamic growers in some sought-after villages and lieu-dits near his home and cellar in Meursault.
Pommard 2021 is hard to put into words that do it justice. Simply stunning. Dense with flavour and texture despite its lean frame and its 11.5% abv. A serious wine with great aging potential yet already in a fantastic drinking place. Due to the rarity of Skyaasen wines no discounts can be applied to this wine.
