Werlitsch Sauvignon Blanc vom Opok
Vintage: 2019
Origin: Styria, Austria
Grapes: Sauvignon Blanc
Alcohol: 12.5%
This is a Sauvignon Blanc like you've never had it before. Grown on chalky marl in Styria, this wine has a pronounced minerality, with citrus and apple flavours, high acidity, and a great tannic structure. This is a great wine to pair with a special meal and will benefit from being decanted to enjoy how it evolves over the course of the night.
Ewald and Brigitte Tscheppe solely plant white wine vines on nine biodynamically cultivated hectares at the boundary between southern Styria and Slovenia. The Demeter winegrowers interfere as little as possible with the natural course and structure of their wines, the majority of which are cuvées. These wines develop slowly in amphorae or used hardwood barrels to create refined, long-lasting wines with character.
