Named after the main road that runs past Arianna's vineyards in Vittoria, SP68 Rosso is everything you want from a modern Sicilian red - fresh, vibrant, and utterly delicious. This blend of 70% Frappato and 30% Nero d'Avola shows off Arianna's magic touch (learned under the watchful eye of her uncle Giusto at COS), creating something much more lifted and bright than your typical Nero d'Avola. The ruby-red wine practically bursts with wild cherries, plums, and mulberries, with that lovely raspberry lift that keeps things lively. But it's the smoky, saline character and those wild Mediterranean herbs that transport you to Sicily - you can almost taste the sun-baked earth and sea breeze. Made biodynamically with wild yeasts and aged in concrete for 8 months, it has a wonderful freshness that means you could serve it slightly chilled on a warm day, yet there's enough savoury complexity and gentle tannins to handle heartier fare too. It's unfined, unfiltered, and completely authentic - basically liquid sunshine from one of Sicily's most exciting young winemakers who's proving that tradition and innovation make the perfect blend.
