High up in Burgenland on a steep, wind-cooled hillside, Christian Tschida works a dense plot of Riesling alongside his friends, using horses to tend the land. Planted at 300 metres above sea level near Lake Neusiedl, the vines draw their character from a mix of brittle schist, hard limestone, and quartz. This single-barrel bottling ferments naturally on wild yeasts with zero intervention, preserving the sheer purity of its cool microclimate.
The wine hits a brilliant sweet spot between crisp, zesty energy and a smooth, delicate creaminess. Sharp green apple and herbal notes lead into touches of resinous juniper, backed by a distinctly salty, mineral-driven backbone. It is a beautifully balanced and refreshing white that offers incredible complexity without feeling heavy.
