Triple B is one of Claus' 'Grand Cuvee' wines, with all grapes coming from a single vineyard. Due to Austrian laws, Claus is not able to put certain bits of information on the bottle, hence the name Triple B. However, with a visit to Burgenland, and a few questions, we can give you that info. The three B's are; Blaufrankisch, Burgenland, and Buehl. The Buehl is the highest and steepest slope on the eastern shore of Lake Neusiedl, with its soil being composed of sandy loam and large concentrations of gravel with limestone. Its South-West exposition allows the grapes to ripen very early.

The Blaufrankisch in Triple B has seen ten days of maceration (both semi-carbonically without stems, and full carbonic with stems), as well as 11 months of aging in Amphora. This is a light and elegant expression of Blaufrankisch, with power and acidity. It's enjoyable now, but also has excellent aging potential!
