Argile Rouge brings together three Alpine varieties from different terroirs to create something truly expressive of Savoie's mountain character. The blend features 50-year-old Mondeuse from limestone-clay soils in Saint-Jean-de-la-Porte, combined with Gamay and Persan from 40-year-old vines on schisty marl hillsides in Saint-Pierre-de-Soucy. The grapes are vinified whole bunch with a ten-day cuvaison before nine months' ageing in fibreglass tanks to preserve that glacial freshness. The Mondeuse brings depth and complexity with added spiciness and structure, whilst the Gamay contributes florality and the Persan adds tannins. On the palate, expect an exciting aromatic range of violet, pomegranate, and spicy red fruits, all underpinned by a very mineral, iron-rich character that speaks of those schist soils. It's refreshing yet structured – a wine that perfectly captures the essence of Alpine viticulture.
