Due to Domaine Labet's limited production and to get these wines into the hands of those who will enjoy them most, we are bundling this wine with a bottle of Ca Boit Libre's Ton Rouge D'elevage. A complimentary bottle, and full transparency, we hope you'll enjoy both your Labet and Ca Boit Libre!
Métis, stemming from the Latin word miscēre, meaning “to mix,” is a cuvée that has hit new levels of quality over the last couple of years, showcasing some of Jura's forgotten old varieties like Enfariné and Petit Béclan alongside more familiar grapes. The blend varies from year to year, keeping things interesting and unpredictable. The grapes undergo 13 days of maceration with 65% being whole cluster, then age for nine months in 228-litre barrels before bottling in July with less than 12mg/l total sulphur. Extraction is incredibly delicate, as with all Labet reds, allowing the fruit to feel very detailed and precise. There's a sappy 'acidulé' quality that runs through the wine, and the mix of varieties brings real complexity – layers of fresh fruit that leave a gorgeous impression on the finish. This is a wine that celebrates Jura's biodiversity and is best enjoyed young, whilst that vibrant fruit is at its peak – the kind of bottle that's perfect for drinking in one sitting with good company.
