G is Lissner's entry-level white and what you'd call proper value for money, a traditional blend of typical Alsatian varieties from vines averaging over 35 years old, dry-farmed using the Fukuoka method that Bruno and Théo have championed in the region. Their wild vineyards have caused quite a stir in Alsace; they don't plough, mow, or trim, just arrange and weave the shoots during summer to let mother nature do her thing. Hand-harvested and direct-pressed as whole clusters, the wine undergoes spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts before ageing in stainless steel for over six months without fining or filtration. What emerges is meant for drinking young and fresh with enjoyable acidity, persistent flavours with a salty touch, and tropical, lively notes from the Muscat in the blend. It's a stunning reflection of the vineyard's stamina and vitality – perfect with summery salads and Asian dishes or just on its own when you want something bright and refreshing.
