Les Journets is a special project born from Raphaël Saint-Cyr’s desire to make the kind of "grapier" wine he loves sharing with fellow winemakers. While he has farmed this plot in the Chénas cru for over a decade, it was a 2017 experiment with full cold carbonic fermentation that convinced him to bottle this parcel separately. The result was so delicious that he now applies this method to all his reds.

Crafted from 100% whole bunches, this wine is a juicy and vibrant expression of the Gamay grape. It is matured for eight months in used barrels followed by two months in tank to let the flavours settle while keeping the fruit at the forefront. As part of the largest organic estate in Beaujolais, this Chénas is fermented with natural yeasts and reflects Raphaël’s commitment to authentic, low-intervention viticulture.
