Muskateller 2024 blends fruit from two distinct parcels – an older one on red sandstone and a newer 3-year parcel on the plateau that gets less sun exposure. The combination gives this wine real complexity, mixing sun-kissed richness with cooler, more acidic notes. After a 10-day carbonic maceration, the grapes are footstomped before being pressed and moved to barrels for fermentation and ageing. What emerges is wonderfully perfumed with distinctive Muskateller aromatics, but there's also a herbal, tonic-like quality that adds sophistication alongside stone fruit-like acidity that keeps everything fresh. It's romantic and spicy with multiple layers unfolding as you drink, a wine that perfectly showcases how different vineyard sites can work together to create something special.
