Spätburgunder comes from vines on the Mandeler Dellchen plot, which is peppered with red sandstone that gives this wine its distinctive character. The vinification splits the fruit two ways – two-thirds undergo carbonic maceration for that juicy energy, while the rest gets destemmed and fermented on the skins for 2 weeks with daily punch downs for structure and depth. The result is deliciously complex yet immensely drinkable, showing light and juicy red fruit supported by deeper earthy notes that speak of that sandstone terroir. There's a savoury, herbal finish with hints of white pepper that really sets this apart – this isn't trying to be Pinot Noir from somewhere else, it's proudly Spätburgunder from the Nahe, energetic and elegant with that true Glow Glow identity.
