Bence Szilagyi's old vine Zweigelt, Schumtzig, is planted on limestone. The grapes go through a slow crush in an old basket press after 10 days of whole bunch maceration, drawing out as much colour and tannins as possible. Schmutzig is unfiltered, unfined, and contains no added sulphur. Schmutzig is a dry wine with well-balanced tannins with flavours of cherry, strawberry, spice, and vanilla. Quantities are super limited on this, with only 600 bottles having been produced.
