This is a serious bottle from Jean-Yves Péron, blending Jacquère, Altesse and Roussanne from vines that are up to 120 years old. The fruit comes from three distinct mountain sites featuring mica-schist and limestone soils. It is a deeply complex orange wine, having spent two months macerating on its skins, followed by a patient three years of ageing in oak barrels.
The result is a heady, structured wine that reveals itself slowly in the glass. You will find layers of stewed stone fruit, honey and exotic citrus, backed by resinous aromatics and a fine, wood-like tannic grip. It has a lovely hint of bitterness on the finish that keeps everything balanced. This is a profound, slow-sipping wine for when you want something with real depth.
