Sourced from vines nearly 40 years old, this wine celebrates Elbling, one of Europe’s oldest grape varieties. Grown on the shell limestone soils of the Obermosel, the fruit underwent a few days of skin contact before being fermented and aged in used Burgundy barrels without intervention. This natural approach transforms a grape often reserved for simple blends into a characterful, terroir-driven wine with remarkable precision.

The nose is complex and gradually reveals layers of white peach, grapefruit, and green apple, alongside wild herbs and crushed wet stone. On the palate, it is vibrant and zesty, balancing a lively acidity with savoury spices and a distinct chalky minerality. It is a bold, elegant expression of the region that showcases exactly why these old vines were worth saving.
