Al Dente is one of those wines that makes you question everything you thought you knew about reds. Martin's clever blend of Pinot Noir with Pinot Blanc and Pinot Gris creates something that's technically red but drinks with all the freshness and zing you'd want from a white. It has a brilliant energy to it, reminiscent of wild cherries with a hint of smokiness, but with a bright, almost electric acidity that keeps you coming back for more. There's proper character here without being heavy, and that slight cloudiness from the natural winemaking adds to its charm. It's the kind of wine that works equally well with a hearty cheese and potato pie or just sipped on its own while you figure out what to cook for dinner.
