This wine is produced from 100% Carignan grapes, sourced from ancient vines that were planted as early as 1900. Grown at a high altitude of 700 metres on marl terraces, the estate follows organic and biodynamic practices to ensure the quality of the fruit. The winemaking involves a short maceration of whole bunches using indigenous yeasts, followed by 10 months of ageing in large, neutral 500-litre barrels. It is bottled without fining, filtration, or any added sulphur.

Despite its light 11% alcohol content, the Matassa Rouge offers a distinct depth with a subtle tannic grip. The palate features a mild spicy element and a slight vegetal touch, reflecting its traditional vinification style. It is a structured yet approachable red wine that pairs perfectly with a cheeseboard or charcuterie.
