Matassa Tattouine Rouge

Inspired by the desert planet of Luke Skywalker, Tattouine is a "blouge" (a portmanteau of BLanc & rOUGE), a vibrant co-fermentation of old-vine Grenache Gris, Noir, and Blanc, along with Macabeu. Grown on red clay soils and surrounded by wild garrigue, the whole clusters undergo a brief five-day maceration in concrete tanks. The wine is then aged on its lees for six months in large Austrian casks and bottled without fining, filtration, or any added sulphites.

This is an exceptionally light red, offering an aromatic palette of crushed redcurrants, dark fruit, and violet flowers, with hints of thyme and subtle smoke. The palate is smooth and precise, featuring silky tannins and a refreshing acidity that gives it the elegance of a fine Pinot Noir. Dry and light-bodied, it is a soulful, characterful wine that perfectly captures the herbal, sun-drenched spirit of the Roussillon.
