Karmazín is the old local name for Frankovka (aka Blaufränkisch), a variety with real character that's important across Central Europe. Petr's version comes from around 78-year-old vines rooted in volcanic rock soils in the Dukejský vineyard, and under his delicate hands, this variety shows elegance, bright fruit, and an ethereal core. Lots of dark cherries and black plums with lovely mineral expression that speaks of those old vines and volcanic terroir. The wine matured for 12 months in old oak barrels without any intervention – no filtration, no sulphur, no fancy tricks, just wine and a piece of honest South Moravia. The taste is elegant and earthy-fruity with a delicate structure and subtle spiciness that's well-balanced throughout. This is Frankovka that remembers where it comes from, showcasing why Petr is one of the most exciting winemakers to watch in Central Europe. His consistent quality and expression year after year shine through in this red wine that really delivers.
