The grapes for this single varietal Gruner Veltliner come from a 50-year-old vineyard on sandy-limestone soil. The grapes are left to macerate on the skins for 24 hours giving the wine a touch more body and texture. Fermentation and subsequent maturation without intervention happen in a Robinia tree barrel. The wine has aromas and tastes of linden flower, slightly bitter almonds, pepper, asparagus, and green peas. Veltliner pairs beautifully with salty starters, fish from the sea and neutral sauces.
