Disorder is arguably Réka's most serious wine and only the second vintage of this single-variety Furmint. The fruit comes from 100% Furmint sourced from the Hintós, Danczka, and Betsek vineyards in the Tokaji village of Mád – 20-30 year old vines rooted in distinctly volcanic andesite and rhyolite base soils with brown forest and clay topsoil. The winemaking is split in two: 50% of the grapes were macerated in layers of whole clusters, whilst the other 50% were machine destemmed and pressed directly in a basket press with no maceration, then fermented in Clayver amphoras and Apollo Flextank egg fermenters. These two types of vinifications were blended in autumn of 2024. The bold, mineral nature of the grape and these volcanic soils gives strong support to full, earthy, amber fruit. This is the most intense – impossible to name a favourite, but this one really shows what Furmint can be. Unsurprisingly, the Hungarian authorities have no idea what to do with this experimental approach, so she can't even write Furmint on the local labels.
