Grün Grün Grüner is the trademark Grüner Veltliner from the Schödl siblings, showing what this grape can do across their region. This blend from a few plots gets various vinification methods and ages in different vessels – textured, tense, aromatic, and serious all at once. The vines grow in deep loess soils, chalky clay, and sandstone conglomerate across slopes and plateaus that give perfect balance between ripeness and acidity. Expect yellow apple with baking spices, subtle clove and aniseed, sesame, dandelion and dried meadow herbs, plus mirabelle plum, citrus fruits, and a hint of Tonka bean. There's good yeast character on the nose and a mineral backbone that shines on the palate with crystalline grip from ripe acidity. Light creaminess with nice complexity – juicy green apple fruit meets herbaceous elegance. Pleasantly light yet full of structure and depth. Perfect with roast and deep-fried dishes or spicy food.
