Yann Bertrand is a winemaker who is almost always found in his vineyards, obsessively caring for his old Gamay vines with organic manures to keep the soil healthy. Since returning to the family estate to work alongside his parents, he has taken the region by storm, mentored by the pioneers of the natural wine movement. This Lantignié comes from a single hectare of old vines growing in deep granite soils. While it sits just across the path from the Fleurie border, its quality is so exceptional that many see it as a future "Cru" in its own right.

The winemaking is incredibly patient, involving a very slow, cold carbonic maceration in concrete tanks that can last up to 25 days. Fermented with native yeasts and bottled unfiltered by gravity according to the lunar calendar, the wine is made with no additions at all. It is a poised and earthy red, offering straightforward notes of cherry, bramble, and crushed leaf. With its taut mineral core and lovely tannic texture, it is the perfect partner for a duck breast or a quiet evening in.
